Matcha Whisk (Chasen) 120 Prongs
A chasen is the traditional tool used to whisk matcha in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. Handmade and crafted from a single piece of bamboo, this is a 120-tine whisk.
The secret to a good, frothy matcha is whisking. Whisking encourages aeration of the tea, allowing the matcha and water to mix with air to create a thick foam on top.
Care Instructions:
1. Before using your Chasen for the first time, soak the whisk in hot water for 10-15 minutes to open its tines.
2. Before each use, soak it in hot water for 1-2 minutes before whisking to soften the tines.
3. After making matcha, rinse in clean water to remove excess matcha and allow to dry in a well-ventilated area.
4. Avoid using detergent. It is NOT dishwasher safe.
