Matcha Brush (Chasen)
Chasen is the traditional tool used to whisk matcha in the Japanese Tea Ceremony. Handcrafted from a single piece of bamboo, it is a whisk with 100 prongs.
The secret to a good, foamy matcha is whisking. Whisking helps aerate the tea, allowing the matcha powder and water to mix with the air, creating a thick foam on top.
Care Instructions:
1. Before using Chasen for the first time, soak the whisk in hot water for 10-15 minutes to loosen the tips.
2. Before each use, soak the teeth in hot water for 1-2 minutes before whisking to soften them.
3. After making matcha, rinse it in clean water to remove excess matcha and dry it in a well-ventilated place.
4. Avoid using detergent. NOT dishwasher safe.
It is made in China.
